NO wiki allowed
NO elite tomes allowed
NO texmod allowed
This includes using Wiki for capping elite skills, knowing pathway for dungeons or missions.
Let's see if you can max 4 carto titles and 4 leg skill hunter titles...with this massive handicap

Elite tomes fall into the "no tomes" rule from the first post.
No texmod will not be an issue as two of my legendary cartographers never used it.
No Wiki will hurt the most. Not because of missions and dungeons but because of skill locations. That would be the biggest handicap. Missions and dungeons are easier to navigate than having to memorize skills and spawn locations of bosses.

Biggest problems with Skill Hunter is the time it takes to fight your way to the boss, zone back, zone somewhere else and repeat the process. Add some frustration when capping skills in Tyria. Randomly spawned bosses are a pain.
|
Yeah - Skill Hunter might seem expensive at first...but really, it's damn cheap. You're not spending ~300k all at once, you're generally spending a few k at a time, and you make that up pretty fast. Do you plan on purchasing signets of capture in bulk to make up for the "no storage" and hence the small gold cap?
And yeah, the time and frustration for capping skills is why I'll probably never do it (I hate randomly spawned bosses). Thankfully I'm not interested in GWAMM

Didn't give that any thought before you mentioned it. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
*crosses fingers for tomorrow's online store offer* Go Character slot, go!

It's probably not the best solution for how to handle money, but if you want to do Skill Hunter, doing that could be useful.
Character slots are on sale this week, go go go!

1) Create a Prophecies character.
2) Do not use tomes. Only use currently available skills.
3) Do not use storage. Equip yourself purely by drops and quest rewards. Sell tomes to other players.
4) Play and finish GW chapters in their chronological order.
5) Before moving on to the next chapter get all bonuses/master rewards in missions.
6) Start Hard Mode only after Normal mode in all chapters and EotN has been beaten.
7) Max titles to get GWAMM.
8) Do it without dying once.
Does all this sound doable? Please share your thoughts and comments on how to make the challenge more... Challenging.

The only difficult thing in there would be doing it without dieing. Everything else you mentioned is basically how GW is played by everyone. Like I said, the only challenge in there is doing it without dieing, the rest of it just sounds like playing the game (although it's slightly easier because several older skills have been buffed since people did it five years ago).
On top of all that you have heroes and henchmen with bars that aren't terrible, unlike old school Alesia which was the real HM.

I don't think everyone plays without storage, tomes and no shortcuts to get some heroes asap but I could be wrong.

Storage was irrelevent when you began, there was nothing in there to begin with. Tomes weren't added until HM was... which was after most people had completed Nightfall... and well didn't really matter because they were playing through Prophecies and Factions in chronological order anyways (and thus already access to all skills with the exception of elites).
Basically what I'm saying is you are playing the game the way most people who have played the game for 6 years played it when content was introduced, heroes, tomes, new skills, ammassed fortunes, all these things didn't exhist when people played the game the first time through, once you obtained a max weapon (which doesn't even matter for casters) you basically didn't develop your character much more simply. The only difference is better skill bars on henchmen now and the no dieing thing (which I personally think isn't going to happen, you won't be able to farm the things you need to farm in the amounts you need to do them without dieing once unless you spend an absurd amount of time being super cautious).

And that's, basically, what I've said on several occasions here in this very thread.

Just Wanna add an idea to your challenge:
Not using fast travel, force you to do areas one at a Time(cargo and vq).
If you accept this well...gl

I'll keep reading for your log of events. One thing I regret on my GWAAM was not keeping a such a log. I had a nice piece of music in mind for a video diary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoLJJRIWCLU Sadly my IT skills suck more than my PVP. Good luck

Tedious ("Hard") Mode is already tedious. I can't see why you'd want to add to the tedium.
Any item on the list melissa b posted will add to the challenge far more than any item on the original list other than the deaths restriction. The limiting condition will be getting through the stickier bits in Hard Mode without taking a dirt nap. Other players, PvE skills and cons will make a very large difference in the level of risk you take on to pull that off.
